I can't blame him since he has addison's disease, takes prednisone every day AND is a pug... but the real problem for me is that he chokes because he eats too fast. I would give the bowl a try. She does the same thing you were describing with Miko - eats her food SO fast that at almost every single meal, she ends up throwing at least some of it back up. I think a lot of it has to do with early life - probably wasn't fed much and now has food anxiety as a result.
