This picture was taken on the best day of my life - our wedding day! This April we will be celebrating our one year anniversary and I can't believe how lucky I am!
I figured the best way to have an about page was to do 100 things about me...
- I’m pug crazy (could you tell?)
- on April 30, 2006 I will have been married one year
- my wedding day was the best day ever – it was a dream come true
- I have an amazing husband, who is also my best friend, Jerry
- we met 4 years ago
- one of my closest friends introduced us
- I knew he was “the one” the first time we spoke to each other
- We were engaged exactly one year before the wedding
- we bought our house before we had ever lived together
- we bought a “custom built” home – which everyone said would test our relationship
- we passed with flying colors
- we lived in our house 4 months before we got engaged
- we hadn’t planned on getting Meimei when we did – it was fate
- we got Meimei from a pet store
- I mostly talked Jerry into it
- we got Miko from a breeder
- I don’t have an opinion on either way of getting your dog – because I wouldn’t have my girls if I did
- my middle name is Rae
- I have lived in Calgary all my life
- I hate the Calgary Stampede and never go
- I have barely traveled any where
- I have an older brother
- we get along really well
- it wasn’t always that way
- my parents are still together
- my saddest day was my Grandpa’s funeral
- My Grandma is an amazing, strong woman
- I never knew my dad’s parents
- I worked at Wendy’s for 3 years (during and after high school) and made my way up to assistant manager before I quit
- I worked as a Court-runner after that
- it was pretty fun
- now I work as a legal assistant
- I got my diploma through correspondence
- and then worked my way up the ladder at different law firms
- I am still paying off student loan debts
- even though I don’t have a degree
- I am afraid of heights
- I live 30 minutes from the Rocky Mountains and see them every day
- I don’t like to ski because of the heights thing
- I fear bridges too
- Jerry and I are big fans of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly)
- Our first dance was to a song that was on a Buffy episode
- It is “Wild Horses” by the Sundays
- We are big geeks – but it’s ok cause we are geeks together
- We are totally into Grey’s Anatomy right now!
- I’m also a closet Gilmore Girls fan
- I’m horrible at math
- But quick to learn almost anything
- I love to read
- And try to be creative with making things with my hands
- I did gymnastics when I was a kid
- and sucked at it cause of the heights thing
- and a fear of breaking bones!
- I was a Brownie and a girl guide when I was a kid
- I became a leader for girl guides after high school and did it for 7 years
- I wanted to be a teacher when I was growing up
- I don’t think I want kids of my own
- I feel like Karma plays a big factor in how I live my life
- I have be known to be lucky
- My first car was a Chrysler New Yorker “E” Class
- it blew black smoke out of the exhaust
- I used to get a lot of speeding tickets
- then my insurance was cancelled on me
- and now I am a more responsible driver
- we own a Pontiac Vibe
- I worked at a personal injury law firm
- and it was an eye opener on how quickly things in life can change
- I try to appreciate all people and things in my life
- I am mostly a positive person – always looking on the bright side
- but I also can be very cynical
- I hate pickles – or more specifically the smell/taste of Dill
- I am a chocoholic
- This May 30 I will be 28
- My husband is 4 ½ years older than me
- We make our bed every morning
- Both our dogs sleep with us
- We are both home-bodies
- We both love to shop
- I have never learned to play an instrument – but would love to learn piano
- I refuse to drink “old” water
- I wish I liked yogurt, but I can’t stand it
- I’m a big breakfast person – I usually have cereal
- but French toast with a side of bacon is the best
- I lived on my own when I was 20
- I got a cat – and then found out I was allergic to cats (as well as horses)
- I find it hard to accept help with anything from anyone
- I was a receptionist for 3 years so I now I don’t like talking to people on the phone
- I’d rather email
- I wish I could be a published writer
- I try to be organized
- but tend to be lazy
- I can fall asleep anywhere
- I usually wear contacts but sometimes I wear my glasses
- I love my dogs very much
- I would really like to dedicate more of my life to pugs and rescue
- I would love to live somewhere with a huge yard
- so Jerry could put in a skateboard ramp
- and I could have a bunch of dogs running around
- but I think I might have to win the lottery to do that
- this was harder than I thought it would be!
Thanks for coming and visiting our blog! Here are some more pics of me and Jerry

OH NO!!! I was afraid of that. You're too pretty. Sorry, but I don't like people like you.....KIDDING. I mean partially kidding. You ARE beautiful WOW. Jerry ain't bad either ;-) You guys are *so* cute together, that is for sure!
ok, this line:
"I refuse to drink “old” water"
really caught me....ME TOO!! The Hubs cannot understand how and why (!!!) I leave all these half empty bottles of water around, but come on! I can't drink it NOW 'cause it's been sitting there for 20 minutes!!
Anyway, I'm glad your Father in Law (Hi Jakub!) got you to post some pictures.
Now I know you're INCREDIBLY young (GAH!) and gorgeous. GREAT, now I'll be all nervous posting here being so old and icky looking.
You guys are completely gorgeous and I love it. :)
Hey! I was married one year ago on April 29th!! How weird is that?! :D
PS -- Why are you a *closet* gilmore girls fan?? I am totally out of the closet gilmore fanatic. Although the current season is killing me. :)
SoozieQ - you rock and you know it! Thanks for the nice words - of course - I picked some of our most flattering pics... ;)
I have always been teased about my old water theory - but I stand by it. Old water is gross - and dirty.
Alicat - that's totally cool (about the wedding dates!) What are you doing for your anniversary?
I am obsessed with GG - I don't know why. This season is a little... but - wait until next week when Jess is back! Oops - I've revealed too much about my GG craziness.... :D
I'm not quite sure what we will do for the anniversary. We might get a free timeshare and go up to Big Sky, MT, which is pretty nice.
Ooo. But I've been reading all the gossip on GG -- and Amy Palladino, one of the writers said she would end this season on a big cliff hanger, and that there may not even be a next season. I will be so angry if they do that!
Then again, the writers have been known to lie a lot to the press to throw them off. I can only hope that is the case. :( I would hate not knowing if Lor ever married Luke and if Rory never got back and stayed together with Jess (I hate logan!) lol :)
I enjoyed reading your list. You guys sound a lot like us, we're home bodies also.
Oh....I am with you 100% on the old water thing. YUK!
